A Superfood is any food that is high in enzymes, phytochemicals, vitamins, minerals, Chlorophyll, and antioxidants. Most fruits and vegetables are super foods.
We have recieved queries from our readers about adding boosters to their juice to make the ultimate super food drink.
Trying to find an appropriate time to stuff a couple of teaspoons of blue green algae into your mouth can be difficult, not to mention wheat grass, barley grass, spirulina, and chlorella. However, we at juicing shack decided to make these super food juice combinations -- (our inspiration -the Naked Juices available on supermarket shelves) . We hope that with these super food juices you get ultimate nutrition with ultimate taste.
When we talk about super foods "green foods," we’re referring to a group of foods that includes young cereal grasses like barley grass and wheat grass, as well a blue-green algae. Nutritionally, they are close cousins to dark green leafy vegetables, but offer far greater levels of "nutrient density." In other words, an ounce of these concentrated green super foods contains much more of the beneficial phytonutrients found in an ounce of green vegetables.

Aloe vera has immense immunity- boosting antiviral and antiseptic properties and is recommended for joint pains and irritable bowel syndrome. Most of the modern research on garlic has concentrated on its ability to lower cholesterol and blood pressure as well as offering protection against stroke and heart disease.

These are beneficial bacteria for the digestive tract. Good for stomach upsets and digestive disorders. Essential during a course of antibiotics. Add it to your smoothies or juices.

Ingredients:
2 apples
8 oz pineapple
1 kiwi
15 oz broccoli
handful of spinach leaves
1/2 bunch parseley
1/2 " ginger
1 clove garlic
1 mango
1 banana
1/2 tsp spirulina powder
1/2 tsp wheatgrass powder.

Method:
Keep the ingredients refrigerated before juicing. This will help you serve a delicious cold juice. Juice the apples, pineapples, kiwi, broccoli, spinach, parseley, ginger, garlic (you could use odorless garlic powder for this recipe if fresh is not available) in a juicer. In a blender mix this juice with mango pieces and a banana. Add the spirulina powder and the wheatgrass powder or juice. This is very close to the Naked Juice (Green machine) available on the supermarket shelves. If you do not have some of the ingredients you could substitute or simply avoid them in this recipe. Be sure to drink your Superfood smoothie cold by using cold ingredients to start with. This Green Juice Superfood makes great breakfast or lunch meal.
