The One Day Juice Detox



One day Juice Detox or Juice Fast

Juice Detox or juice fasting helps in making your skin look clearer, regulating bowel movements, colon cleansing and for better and more efficient kidney and liver functions and to reducing stress levels. During this one day juice detox it is recommended that you avoid any refined sugar, dairy products, gluten, corn products, caffeine, alcoholic beverages, food additives and preservatives.

Do not do any strenuous exercise, you could do some light stretching and breathing exercises after breakfast. The juice detox or juice fasting day should be a day when you relax and rejuvenate your mind and body. Drink atleast 8 glasses of water throughout the day.

Some important juice detox tips to follow before and after the juice detox:

  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Eat vegetables every day, especially greens.
  • Avoid transfats and eat foods low in saturated fats and cholestrol
  • Reduce your sugar consumption.
  • Eat close to nature.
  • Reduce or eliminate your use of alcohol, nicotine, and caffeine.
  • Exercise daily according to fitness level, to improve circulation and sweat out toxins

Will I lose weight?

 A one day juice detox may not help you lose weight but it could help you get a head start if you want to lose weight but to keep the weight off you would have to maintain a healthy eating plan and exercise.

Who should not do this juice detox:

If you are underweight, pregnant or breastfeeding, have anemia, Diabetes, following a course of prescription medication, kidney failure or liver disease, or any other serious ailment.

What are the other benefits of a juice detox:

Your skin becomes clearer, more regualr bowel movements, better liver and kidney functions, reduces stress and inflamatory conditions.

Juice detox Breakfast:
Start with a glass of warm water with a little lemon juice. This is a gentle way to begin the day and flush out your system on the juice detox. After about half an hour have apple juice. You may combine apple juice with carrot and celery juice (if desired). You could also try this watermelon juice  detox recipe for breakfast.

Watermelon juice Detox Recipe:

Watermelon juice is great for detoxification. It acts as a diuretic and detoxifier. The strawberries are rich in Vitamin C and the blackberries are a good source of folic acid.

  • 8 oz watermelon
  • 4 oz strawberries
  • 4 oz blackberries

Put all the ingredients in a juicer, you could also use a blender and serve cold.

Juice detox Brunch:

Have some herbal tea like peppermint tea to aid in the juice detoxification or juice fasting process. After about half an hour have any fruit juice preferably a waterbased fruit juice of your choice.

Juice detox Lunch:

This is the time most people experience hunger pangs. Try juicing vegetables for lunch like this Veggie juice detox recipe.

Veggie Juice Detox

  • 3 carrots
  • 3 stalks celery
  • 1/2 small beet
  • ½ tsp lemon juice
  • ¼ tsp gingerroot chopped fine
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional)
Juice all the ingredients in the juicer without the honey. You may add honey to the juice and your veggie detox lunch is ready.

Have another glass of water. After about an hour have a cup of herbal tea with ginger.
Relax during the afternoon. Listen to music. Do not do any strenuous activity during the juice fasting.
Have some more water.

Juice detox Evening drink:

Try the juice of strawberries or cranberries or blueberries. Mango juice is also great at this time of the day. It gets rid of any hunger pangs you may be feeling.
Have another glass of water

Juice detox Dinner:

End the day with the dinner detox juice recipes which will help you feel sleepy and relaxed.

Juice Dinner detox 1
  • 6 oz Pineapple
  • 2 oz Lettuce
  • 2 oz Celery

Juice the ingredients in a juicer and serve cold.

Juice Dinner detox 2

  • 4 oz carrots
  • 4 oz apples
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 1 banana

Juice the carrots, apples and celery and then put the juice in a blender with the banana. Serve cold.

Make juices which give a feeling of fullness and which would help prevent hunger pangs. Have another glass of water. Relax with music and an aromatherapy bath.

Some people experience hunger cravings during the night. Keep a glass of pineapple, apple or mango juice in the refrigerator and treat yourself to it if you feel too hungry. Remember to drink plenty of water throughout the day.

Start the next day with fresh fruits and vegetables.

After you do a juice detox or a juice fasting day try and eliminate foods which are harmful to your body like alcohol or processed foods.

Medical allopathy doctors never recommend anything like this. Why ?

Thank you for your comment. We recommend that before starting this detox or any other detox diet you should consult with a qualified health professional and/or their medical doctor first. That said you are right that at times some doctors may not be in favor of such practices. Some allopathic doctors are concerned about treating symptoms or just into disease management without looking at the disease from a holistic perspective. That said, I personally have an allopathic doctor who is very interested in alternative and holistic approach to treating a disease.
Detox diets can jumpstart you into healthier eating habits. The changes in your system with a detox diet could start a long term change for the long haul by reducing sugar and salt cravings.
We at juicingShack in no way claim that juicing or juice detox will cure you of any ailment.
